The Installation Process
One thing that often puts people off changing their heating system to something completely different is the thought of all the work that will need to be carried out and the upheaval it could create in their home. With people walking in and out of the house and the possibility of dust and debris, it can be distressing for some to consider.
A good Air Source Heat pump company understands just how important it is for a client that they do the job as efficiently and quickly as possible and of course that any mess is cleaned up. It is important to leave a client's home as they found it but with the one noticeable difference; a brand new efficient ASHP.
The Inspection
Any installation will begin with a proper inspection of your property. This will ensure that the ASHP that is being recommended is the most appropriate one for your needs.
A mutually convenient appointment time will be arranged so that one of our fully trained engineers can visit and make a full assessment. This will allow us to produce a written report of our recommendations and even give you an indication of the savings that you might be able to make.
Detailed sketches of the rooms in your property can be used to help the installers to complete the work as efficiently as possible.
The Installation
Air Source Heat Pumps are relatively simple to install for a qualified installer. The pipework and heat pump controls layout are not dissimilar to those of a conventional oil or gas boiler, which can make the installation process a much less complicated process.
The Air Source Heat Pump itself will need to be sited outside the property on a flat concrete base which will offer it stability. There should be no need for any external digging outside your property.
It is important that the unit is sited somewhere where it will be subject to good airflow. The appropriately sized return and flow heating pipes and electrical power cables will need to flow from the system into your property. This work is completed outside the property. The installer will then need to move inside to complete the rest of the work. This will involve connecting the new system to your existing radiators or, if you have it, underflooring heating system, to maintain your heating and hot water.
There may be some disruption involved because of the work. Your old system will need to be disconnected whilst the new one is installed fully. Our installers are very experienced and will ensure that all of the work is carried out tidily and efficiently whilst minimising the disruption to your day to day life. Any mess that they may have to make installing the system will, of course, be tidied up.
How Long Does Installation Take?
Obviously, the amount of time that it will take to complete an installation will vary from one property to another. If you have a smaller property then the installation process may only take a day, however if your property is larger, and older, then you should expect it to take a couple of days.
